The Savoys Show Band
Welcome!
The Savoys Show Band has a rich tradition that goes back to the 1950s. It began with a vision by Skip Spurgeon to create a band made up of the finest musicians available at the time for the listening enjoyment of the local audiences in his hometown of Portland, Michigan. Skip led and played lead alto saxophone with the Savoys until he reitred and turned the leadership of the band over to me in May of 2018. One of those young musicians was our trombonist, Jim Fish, who still plays with the Savoys today.
