Guest Artist, Alto Saxophone

Margaret Banton

Margaret Banton has performed as a freelance and military musician and served as a teacher and clinician for several decades. She started as a saxophonist and vocalist with the Army Ground Forces Band, Ft. McPherson (Atlanta), Georgia. In 1993, Margaret transferred to the Air National Guard (ANG), Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia, where she retired in 2013. With the ANG band, she served as saxophonist and vocalist and senior enlisted leader for the ANG band of the South. Equally versatile in classical, jazz, rock, and rhythm and blues (R&B) genres, Margaret has performed with several large and small ensembles in the Atlanta metro area and around the southeast, including performing as principal saxophonist with the Atlanta Wind Symphony and the Tara Winds. While in Atlanta, she performed as saxophonist and vocalist with the Carollton Jazz Orchestra, Third Stream Big Band, the Atlanta 17, the Big Band Contractors and two tribute bands. Since moving to The Villages in 2022, she actively performs with several bands in The Villages, and with groups in the local area. She plays in the orchestra and sings on the praise team at New Life Christian Church i Wildwood, Fl. You'll also see her perform at one of the Village Squares every so often. Margaret pursued jazz studies at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis), has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music/Business Industry from St. Catherine University (St. Paul, Minnesota), and a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University. She is an active member of the Association of Concert Bands (ACB) and the Jazz Education Network (JEN). Margaret recently retired from a 31-year career as the Deputy Director for Human Capital Management with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, where she continues to be a consultant. She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Margaret lives in the Village of Richmond where she is active with Aqua fit and pickleball. Margaret is a lifelong student of jazz and classical music and an avid fan of R&B and soul music.

Bob Wilson

     Bob began studying piano at the age of five. His formal music education includes a BFA in Music from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a Master in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan. One of Bob's unique talents is the ability to sing and play music in a wide variety of styles, be it Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock, or Country. Since the early 1970s, Bob has been forming, leading and playing with bands performing all sorts of music genres, as well as solo piano work. His musical career has included appearances at 5-star hotels, live radio shows, local musical theater, solo piano concerts, touring lounge bands, jazz fair performances, and countless private parties and dances. He has even had the privilege to perform solo piano for the Vice President of the United States. Currently a resident of The Villages, he continues to enjoy a wide variety of music performing with rock bands, jazz bands, show bands, and orchestras. With over 45 years of professional experience, Bob's performances please the young and old. His music is always filled with the fun and enjoyment he feels for the art he loves.

Jill Santoriello

Jill Santoriello is the award-winning author of the Broadway musical "A Tale of Two Cities" (Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Broadway Musical) and "It Happened in Key West" which had its American premiere at the historic Fulton Theater in Lancaster, Pa, running January 24 to February 11, 2024.  The London cast recording "It Happened in Key West" is available on Apple Music, Amazon, and all other digital platforms. Jill is one of only four women in history to write book, music and lyrics for a Broadway show.  She adapted and Executive Produced the PBS special "A Tale of Two Cities - In Concert" starring Michael York and the accompanying DVD and CD (available on iTunes and Amazon.)  "A Tale of Two Cities" has since been produced in Japan, Korea, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia, Germany, the U.S., and Canada.

   Jill recently began a freelance writing and editing career and has finished writing her second biography.  Future projects include a musical adaptation of the literary classic "Pollyanna."  She's a graduate of Ohio University's School of Journalism, a Florida and New Jersey fellowship grant winner, an ASCAP and BMI workshop alumna, Dramatists Guild member, and former development executive at Showtime Networks.
